A Summer Wedding

I had the privilege of doing the flowers for Nicole and AJ's wedding at the Sheraton Carlsbad last month ... they are such an amazing couple, and I wish them a wonderful life together!

There is nothing better than a summer wedding here in beautiful Carlsbad so I hope you enjoy these photos!

The bride's bouquet was a mix of pastels using hydrangea, garden roses, tulips, scabiosa flowers and eucalyptus leaves.

The boutonnieres were were classic and simple, white roses with accents of eucalyptus.

The ceremony had an ocean view and a wonderful coastal breeze and I absolutely loved the bamboo arch the bride's father built for the wedding.

The arch was decorated with some amazing phalaenopsis and cattleya orchids (...thanks Tayama!!), hydrangea, roses, scabiosa flowers and pods, and eucalyptus. I loved how the breeze carried the chiffon fabric draped over the arch.

For the aisle, I hung mason jars filled with flowers from shepherds hooks and I loved how they came out!. Each mason jar was unique, but they all used a mix of roses, scabiosa flowers and pods, orchids, hydrangea, and eucalyptus to fit the garden/beach theme.

I loved everything about this wedding, but making this 5 foot tall arrangement at the entrance to the reception was a stand out. The cattleya and phalaenopsis orchids were gorgeous in every way (...thanks Tayama!!!!!). I mixed them with some roses, garden roses, hydrangea, and greens, and the 4 foot tall cylinder vase has cattleya orchids and pencil starfish submerged which helped tie in the beach theme. It was a lovely arrangement to highlight this lovely day for Nicole and AJ.

And a huge thanks to my amazing husband (and photographer) for the wonderful photos!! I couldn't have done all of this without you!
